Fundación Crece Latinoamérica-Gonzalo Menéndez Duque donates US$160,000.00 in food

In order to help feed the most vulnerable sectors of the population, which are currently facing a critical situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fundación Crece Latinoamérica-Gonzalo Menéndez Duque, the foundation carrying out Bladex’s social work, allocated the sum of US$160,000 distributed among seven non-profit organizations.

In Panama, where our Headquarters are located, the Foundation contributed US$100,000 to the Feed a Life (Alimenta una Vida) program run by the Food Bank, through which food has been provided to some 30,000 people a month, living in various sectors of the country. Six other organizations, with which the Foundation has been working over the years, received food assistance grants; four of these organizations are located in Panama, one in Ecuador and one in Brazil. In Panama, we also supported the Hogar Divina Gracia shelter, Hogar de Niñas y Adolescentes Nuestra Señora de la Merced shelter, Marie Poussepin Educational Center and the Virgen de Guadalupe Community Center in El Bale, province of Veraguas, from where we delivered 300 bags of food to the residents of this community and surrounding areas.

In Ecuador we contributed to the food program carried out by Fundación Wong and in Brazil we supported the Brascri Foundation to supply bags of food during four months to the neediest families of the children served by the Foundation.
