Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S.A. (“Bladex” or the “Bank”) recently celebrated 10 years of being part of the BMV Group (Bolsa Mexicana de Valores Group) family, with its initial listing in March 2012 in this debt market.

To celebrate, Bladex held the traditional Bell Ringing Ceremony at BMV Group's Auction Floor, which joins Bladex's international celebrations, which in 2022, also celebrates 30 years of having achieved the milestone of becoming the first Panamanian institution and the first Latin American bank to be registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), by successfully carrying out the first public issuance of shares in international markets on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

During these 10 years of listing on the Mexican Stock Exchange, Bladex has obtained financing for more than $27 billion pesos through twelve different issues, nine of which have been long-term and three short-term.

To date, Bladex has outstanding long-term and short-term issues for more than $16 billion pesos, the most recent being the placement of $5.5 billion pesos in long-term debt in two series last August. In addition, during 2022 it has issued more than $500 million pesos in short-term debt. It is worth noting that its long-term issues are rated "mx AAA" and "AAA(mex)" by S&P Global Ratings, S.A. de C.V. (S&P) and Fitch México, S.A. de C.V., respectively; while its short-term issues are rated "mxA-1+" by S&P.

"These 10 years of issuance on the Mexican Stock Exchange are a milestone in Bladex's history, not only because it is a market with recurring successful issuances, but also because the Central Bank of Mexico is one of the founding members of this regional organization. The Mexican market is a strategic ally to expand our funding base and increase the number of investors in our issues," said Jorge Salas Taurel, Bladex CEO, during the commemorative ceremony from the emblematic balcony of the BMW Group’s Auction Floor.

"For Bolsa Mexicana de Valores Group it is a source of satisfaction to contribute to the important work carried out by Bladex offering financial solutions of excellence to enable companies to connect in their foreign trade activities. The issues they have made demonstrate that the Mexican stock market is a real financing option. Congratulations on a decade of success on the Mexican Stock Exchange, preceded by many more years of operation in the Region," said José-Oriol Bosch, BMW Group CEO.
